Parece que afinal de contas o artista consegue fazer prevalecer a sua vontade,dando-se a conhecer um pouco mais no seu próprio país.
Pois,vejamos se para a pintura tem demonstrado ter engenho e arte para dar e vender,faltava tirar a prova dos nove,se ainda assim António Pessoa conseguia convencer Vicente Fernández Lago,a decidir-se finalmente a divulgar de uma forma mais adequada,a sua obra em terras lusas.
O Sr.Fernández Lago,apesar da fama que tem de ser um homem teimoso e muito fiel aos seus caprichos,no que se refere a António Pessoa felizmente sempre parece fazer uma pausa na sua obstinada natureza,concedendo ao artista,por respeito,por hábito e também às vezes até por distração,essa cedência por influência de uma simpatia moral e vamos lá vêr,até mesmo pragmática.
E o resultado começa a estar à vista com três "long play"exposições simultâneas e outras que tantas já programadas para esta temporada
de Primavera-Verão na bela Galiza.
António Pessoa precocemente reformado,que é como quem diz,como se sabe,porém pelo menos na sua atitude e modelo de vida dá visiveis sinais de estar bem onde está, restringindo o seu circulo de amigos intimos ao minimo imprescindivel e desta forma preservando uma certa qualidade social,que não só o inspira e o enriquece espiritualmente,como o vai por assim dizer protegendo de más influências e de interferências
negativas.
Intrinsecamente desinteressado por questões mundanas como fama,dinheiro,compromissos sociais cerimoniosos e acima de tudo cada vez mais insensível ao ritmo estupefaciente das grandes urbes,Home Studio-Antonio Pessoa reveste-se cada vez mais de uma atmosfera de trabalho plástico,silêncio e pensamento,estudo,análise politica e social,invenção,lazer e contemplação.
Esta exposição patente ao público todos os meses de Primavera e Verão adapata-se bastante ao critério estético e até climático de António
Pessoa,artista bastante habituado à atmosfera da Dolce Vita do sul da Peninsula desde a sua adolescência,apesar de ter vivido seis anos entre Londres e Amsterdam.
Ainda que Worlwide seja um projecto que lhe vai exigir ceder e abdicar do conforto semi-tropical no qual se encontra como um peixe dentro de água,para enfrentar-se à turbulência de cidades como Nova Iorque,Chicago,Los Angeles,Dallas e até mesmo em sua casa,Barcelona,facto que verdade seja dita para o artista consiste muito mais em sofrimento do que em prazer,António Pessoa faz o sacrificio e toma inteiramente a responsabilidade perante si mesmo e naturalmente perante os muitos colaboradores que dependem e vivem exclusivamente do e para o projecto.
Obviamente ainda sem certezas concretas é contudo muito possivel que o pintor português venha durante estes meses de Primavera e Verão
a marcar algumas vezes presença neste paraiso algarvio,obviamente dependendo também da sua voluminosa agenda.
Tendo sido sempre a sua região favorita em Portugal,onde o artista já viveu e passou longas temporadas desde a sua adolescência,o Algarve
continua a provocar-lhe essa sensação de bem-estar e êxtase o que muito provavelmente pode significar que de facto apareça por aí,quanto mais não seja para dar um ar da sua graça.
Sém dúvida que vale a pena se a alma não é pequena,pegar na familia,meter-se no Popó e vir até cá aos belos Algarves,claro está no Carvoeiro,Suites Alba Resort & Spa,em jeito de férias e naturalmente com os sentidos apurados para visualizar uma das colecções hoje em dia,mais representativas das artes plásticas portuguesas.

Another great Antonio Pessoa solo Art Show at the Casa da Calçada .Relais & Châteaux,Vernissage taking place May 12, 7 p.m. and open to visitors till August 12,2007.
Another "The Romantic Period" outlook,1997-2002,inspired and produced in Vigo,Spain and definitely one of the most striking artworks series of the artist ever.
Again,it seems it's never too much to overlook Antonio Pessoa's unique and outstanding Romantic Period,1997-2002,the endless well-acted series of artworks aiming so many different aspects of fine arts and furthermore,getting it done by the magical dynamic force and energy of an artist so incredibly involved with the basic pure studio hard work and continuous research.
Therefore,in so doing,Antonio Pessoa during those super-productive years living in Vigo,Spain,actually accomplishes art results beyond even his closest friends expectations turning huge blank canvases into splendid and amazing high quality artworks.
From 1997 till 2002,the very space in time of the worldwide known and rather puzzling Romantic Period,the artist actually explores all there is to explore and review in the pure fine arts universe.This rather peculiar and still not yet fully explained urgency to produce on a frantic daily basis and with an extreme concentrated devotion,still remains an obscure and not yet fully solved sort of mystery.
This almost paranormal unexplained phenomena,like it or not,gave birth to one of the most fine art amazing encyclopedic art collections among the ones of the Great Masters.The hidden reasons or motivations which actually led Antonio Pessoa throughout five intense years of nerve shaking, ferocious adventures across the fine art trade field , still remain in the secret of the Gods.
Not even Mr. Vicente Fernández Lago,close friend,partner,book keeper,public relations and administrator of Antonio Pessoa's affairs in Spain and Portugal,not even spaniard Irene Luz Iglesias Dona still the artist official wife,neither his multiple european and americans collaborators,yet got to deeply understand what was on the artist's mind and soul during those speed limit years of the wonderful,bohemian and hard working Romantic Period.
Actually the only one who seems to be keeping the Classified Information-so to speak- is indeed Mr.Jacob Kotsky,Antonio Pessoa's official biographer and close friend since the late 90's.
Like a fast-forward movie,the artist's Romantic Period went zooming through those action time five years,leaving behind thousands of loose ends and finger prints in the body of amazing and outstanding artworks.
Antonio Pessoa the Andy Warhol of Vigo,Spain,was and still seems to be the top model for all absolute beginners and even the veteran artists of west northern Spain.If from 1997 to 2002,he became indeed as popular as popular can be mainly in Vigo but also in whole region of Galecia,from the time he settles down in Barcelona his mythical aura increases to the point of almost becoming a legend,significantly a mith in his own time within the Vigo art scene,namely among artists,art curators,media and art collectors.
Nevertheless,most importantly was undoubtedly his personal talented achievement by accomplishing a true gifted titanic collection of gifted art pieces.

O Pincel ataca de novo !
The Brush strikes again (O Pincel ataca de novo ) é o retomar da colecção Art on White iniciada em 2006 e agora surgindo numa refrescante e nova versão de 2007,uma premonição de futuros trabalhos
do artista,naturalmente uns mais felizes do que outros como não podia deixar de ser.Longe ainda está o separar o trigo do joio para aquilo que
inevitavelmente um dia será o Best Of 2007.
A colecção Art on White 2006 de António Pessoa teve o aplauso do público,dos criticos de arte e de alguns galeristas os quais um a um foram considerando Art on White como uma das melhores séries deste artista
plástico desde o celebérrimo Black and White album 1997-1998.
Talvez a mais relevante diferença é o facto de António Pessoa hoje em dia parecer ter-se livrado de algumas demasiado obvias influências que
dez anos atrás o bombardeavam incessantemente no exercicio plástico
e até no pensamento.
Talvez o interregno de 2005 tenha sido afinal de contas o tempo de reflexão necessário a um corte drástico com os fantasmas do passado,ou talvez simplesmente o nascimento de uma nova filosofia de vida dando lugar a uma nova perspectiva plástica e consequentemente a uma nova linha estética.

mais além do conceito average contemporâneo com The NEW ERA .
A chuva de boas e más criticas não se fez esperar.A predominância de um positivismo geral falou por si mesma e The NEW ERA foi recebida com
entusiasmo e alegria,sem grande espalhafato nem levantar muita polémica.
Para polémico já temos o artista,bem mais controverso que as suas próprias criações artisticas.Este é o boca-a-boca e é realmente verdade.
A minha humilde opinião como critico e professor de pintura e História de Arte,pode até eventualmente ser talvez a mais objectiva,dado que a minha relação com o artista é coisa recente,ao contrário de Luis Santiago,Vicente Fernández Lago,Pierre Fontanals,Nancy Igartiburu e naturalmente Jacob Kotsky,que são colaboradores e amigos intimos de
António Pessoa ,já de longa data.
A minha análise,a qual confere-me o direito de me manifestar segundo
o modelo em vigor de livre expressão,leva-me a concluir uma infindável
teia de contradições tanto na vida como na obra do artista.
E a conclusão à qual eu chego é que com António Pessoa há que
forçosamente separar o trigo do joio e o homem do artista.
De uma modo geral considero que a obra de Pessoa é excelente,não pretendendo com isto dizer que penso que tudo o que ele dá à luz é bom.
Estou plenamente convencido de que o próprio artista tem nitida consciência deste eventual desnivel de qualidade,coisa que segundo me consta não parece consistir numa preocupação para o próprio mas sim uma realidade inevitável a uma sempre contínua mega-produção,o que é o caso.
A extenuante salgalhada de influências que marcam a Época Romântica de António Pessoa,1997-2002,onde modelos como Francis Bacon,Georg Baselitz,Pablo Picasso,Henry Matisse,Paul Cadmus,Alberto Giacometti,Vieira da Silva,Frank Stella,Miró,Andy Warhol e até mesmo Salvador Dali...parecem ter sido arrumadas,empacotadas e enviadas por
correio para o reino do esquecimento.
António Pessoa, milagrosamente surge com The NEW ERA em 2006 mais do que nunca igual a si próprio.
Obras como August Storm,The Brain e Contemporary Plus,entre outras,
marcam a diferença,acentuam um certo minimalismo e estudada simplicidade conceptual,deixando claro um apuradissimo critério de qualidade e ao mesmo tempo conservando a riqueza das cores e das formas da mais bela tradição das Belas Artes.

Si la Época Romántica de Antonio Pessoa,(1997 - 2002) , una colección
monumental de más de 1200 oleos sobre lienzo,de pura inspiración gallega y con el sello inconfundíble de las primeras vanguardias del síglo XX,como Matisse,Braque,Picasso y Marc Chagall...
Si la Nueva Era ( 2006 - 2007 ) de Antonio Pessoa ha tenído un efecto
devastadoramente impactante y hasta morboso tanto entre los coleccionístas de arte como en el exigente critério de la pretigiosa nueva generación de críticos;por su color,formas eclécticas,su calíbre de expresión plástica,
más que simplemente contemporáneo,visualmente inoxidable,dotada de un original malabarismo extremadamente cromático,agradablemente chillón,minimalista y sabiamente saturada a la vez...
...la fantástica colección de dibujos del album Blanco y Negro (1997 - 1998 ),producída en Vígo,publicada en Tuy y ahora mísmo conocída,consagrada y aplaudida internacionalmente;es muy probablemente la más atrevída,original y erudíta Época del artísta.
Aunque tan solo hayan sído publicados en catálogo 300 dibujos,la verdad es que más de 1000 obras de hecho hacen el todo de esta colección enciclopedica,la cual al parecer promete volverse muy pronto una Época Historica de la vida y Obra de Antonio Pessoa,obviamente por distintas razones que si vamos a ver y si nos asomamos al tema con la debída lectura,detenidamente y despacio, pueden ser su polifacética
temática,desde el erotísmo camuflado pero a flor de piel,pasando por el retrato neo-surrealista desfragmentado y analítico,hasta los juegos caricaturístas de clara controversa naturaleza de estílo y contenído.
Supongo que no hace falta referir la técnica de alta precisión,las sorprendentes cualidades de excelente dibujante de Antonio Pessoa,las cuales han hecho que esta colección haya resultado una saga llena de episodios de inspiración melodramática,visión quimerica y rapsodia fantasísta.
De rara belleza estética,madurez técnica,soltura frenética y inspiración gallega,la colección Blanco y Negro de Antonio Pessoa, muy probablemente será cada vez más un marco y un fenómeno de la vida y Obra del artísta digno de estudio académico-erudito a nivel internacional y seguramente,según las previsiones de muchos expertos,una plataforma de imprescindíble referencia del Arte Moderno Universal...
...quizás solo comparable a la Época Azul de Pablo Picasso.

...la fantástica colección de dibujos del album Blanco y Negro (1997 - 1998 ),producída en Vígo,publicada en Tuy y ahora mísmo conocída,consagrada y aplaudida internacionalmente;es muy probablemente la más atrevída,original y erudíta Época del artísta.
Aunque tan solo hayan sído publicados en catálogo 300 dibujos,la verdad es que más de 1000 obras de hecho hacen el todo de esta colección enciclopedica,la cual al parecer promete volverse muy pronto una Época Historica de la vida y Obra de Antonio Pessoa,obviamente por distintas razones que si vamos a ver y si nos asomamos al tema con la debída lectura,detenidamente y despacio, pueden ser su polifacética
temática,desde el erotísmo camuflado pero a flor de piel,pasando por el retrato neo-surrealista desfragmentado y analítico,hasta los juegos caricaturístas de clara controversa naturaleza de estílo y contenído.
Supongo que no hace falta referir la técnica de alta precisión,las sorprendentes cualidades de excelente dibujante de Antonio Pessoa,las cuales han hecho que esta colección haya resultado una saga llena de episodios de inspiración melodramática,visión quimerica y rapsodia fantasísta.
De rara belleza estética,madurez técnica,soltura frenética y inspiración gallega,la colección Blanco y Negro de Antonio Pessoa, muy probablemente será cada vez más un marco y un fenómeno de la vida y Obra del artísta digno de estudio académico-erudito a nivel internacional y seguramente,según las previsiones de muchos expertos,una plataforma de imprescindíble referencia del Arte Moderno Universal...
...quizás solo comparable a la Época Azul de Pablo Picasso.

since the two Chicago art shows,2004 till Den Haag's Holland Art Fair,2006
artist Antonio Pessoa has been exhibiting his Romantic Period artworks mainly in fancy five stars hotels in France,Spain and Portugal.
one of the main reasons for this choice, is-as far as we know - the artist's clear reluctance to commit himself to the eventual whims of any art gallery...unless the deal at stake fits his very personal idea of how his project plus the general progression of his professional life must be managed,handled and obviously promoted.
a difficult sort of artist,this lad named Antonio Pessoa...or should I say,

keep on kicking about,friends,make a formal accusation...he couldn't care less,believe me!
while most of the artists struggle to get through the crowd...so very often in the endless breathtaking attept to achieve something...
...Sir Antonio Pessoa seems to have writen on his face "THE HARDER THE CONFLICT THE MORE GLORIOUS THE TRIUMPH!!"
what do you know!!!
if it happens you're thinking he's kind of weird,playing the bloody waiting game...having a stormy burst of laughter out of his waggish behavior,you're stiff wrong.´
...Sir Antonio Pessoa,the great communicator but also the great pain in the ass...is no perverted nor a snobbish jerk,not that,never,definitely not.
on the contrary the artist is a sharp first rate professional who knows exactly what he wants,(his way!!!)...how he wants it and where he wishes to go.

the big question remains without answer for the time being!
is Antonio Pessoa going to give in...give it all up...or make it just the way he wants to?

straight forwardness keeps on burning,steaming and rolling!
Springtime is coming,thanks to the global warming!
And as the temperature rises and in so doing tempering the artist's temper...Antonio Pessoa borns again after a short cold winter,ready for whatever his priorities are.A man's got to do what a man's got to do.
Antonio Pessoa the-Lyon -Heart very,very probably once again is about to get up and stand for his controversial reputation.The odd reputation of the Mystery Man...maybe?!
While the nasty bad guys on the lookout expect him to jump off a cliff for good...or something...the good souls pray and hope the future shall bring Antonio Pessoa all the best,best as best can be.
this sure is no greasy kid's stuff,folks!
it's rather a nail-biting thriller...with no guns so far...but providing everyone with enough suspense to make us keep the eyes open...just in case!!!

Antonio Banderas by Antonio Pessoa
No big news,no big deal,no big story.Just artist Antonio Pessoa tackling one of his favourite subjects ever.Portraits.Also Antonio Banderas one of his favourite Hollywood actors , comes right on schedule for the opening,very probably preceding the next lucky-or unlucky - ones who are foreordained to enter Antonio Pessoa's Portrait Gallery.
Antonio Banderas,so it seems,comes into sight not precisely as a new star but more like a diving divine colorful cartoon,with one eye less but with a lot more mystery than in the motion pictures.
Artist Antonio Pessoa provoking as always,doesn't let us know whether he is caricaturing the actor or enhancing Antonio Bandera's good looks.
So if anyone really wishes to know for sure,take my wise advice,go and ask the artist what was the real intention.Do not worry, for the worst probable possibility is that the portrait's author will promptly generate an ambiguous answer,opening the discussion to two or more interpretations,either intending to mislead you on purpose or crazy as it seems providing you with the mirror of the truth speech for all that matters.
Miscellaneous,an haphazard composition of different kinds of art expressions,Antonio Bandera's portrait by Antonio Pessoa might as well be the beginning of a new series of controversial human "face lifting" disasters or even facial profiling sessions,one way or another not even the art critics seem to know what to say anymore.

Contemporary Art reviewing requires a daily basis continuous information research.The endless amount of Art galleries and artists increases the difficult task of being more or less up dated and able to have a reasonable general idea,realistic enough to make sense.
In this universe of tendencies one might consider the ultimate possibility of going backwards and sit on the comfortable upholstered chair of the twentieth century Great Masters,such as Francis Bacon,Andy Warhol,Jackson Pollock,Botero,Kandinsky and Picasso.
Nevertheless,new contemporary Art after all provides me with many positive aspects of legitimate artistic expression,such as Antonio Pessoa.
Antonio Pessoa's remarkable talent is very probably one of the most reliable references of contemporary Art.
Totally devoted to his unmutable belief,he naturally manages to keep away of the struggling crowd,being effortlessly admited in the major highest elitist Art circles while his art works get a high rank circulation status of the classic phenomenon in this particular case leading to be part of the new century's Art History.

Probably talking about Antonio Pessoa's best of is talking about his whole career,for it seems quite obvious that for the past 17 years this artist has no doubt proved
to be a prodigious master of contemporary art.
From 1995 to 2006 he went through amazing changes,always surprising the public in every art show,restlessly keeping on pursuing new formulas of art expression and improving at light speed with the dedication and concentration of someone who doesn't look back,with the self-stimulus of an artist who knows where he's going to and knows he's going to make it.
Antonio Pessoa might change his style here and then but one thing is for sure,he never changes the positive thinking,the straightforward attitude.

The same might be said of his conceptual colors.Here is the jungle,the savannah,the sea or the cosmos,resplendent with colors and shapes,Art in its primal abundance,and sometimes at first we see only chaos,the anarchy of the wild.Look again,however,and a new order begins to emerge,as things that had been hidden from us at first viewing soon begin to reveal themselves.
And again,Antonio Pessoa uses color itself as a foil for his own whimsical investigations into the complex forms that underline the visual world around us.
In so doing,he poses a certain questions: how do the eye and mind interpret what we see,and how does human expression relate to colors own expression?'
Those are complicated questions,but Antonio Pessoa's approach is both serious and playful.

Thanks everyone of you who are visiting this blog.
I hope and expect deep down from my heart that you'll enjoy it almost as much I've enjoyed hard working in
order to make all these art works come true.
It's defenitely not always easy to make a living out of Fine Arts;nevertheless that's the way I've chosen to lead my life and I don't actually regret a single minute
I've been dedicating to this stimulating trade,for the past seventeen years as a full-time artist.
I love what I do and I do it for all of you,for communication is something I truly and deeply believe in,something I couldn't live without.
Also wish to thank all my friends team who helped me upload this blog in less than 24 hours.That was quite a job,mates!
